Today’s Daily Reading is an excerpt from Morgan Snyder's book “Becoming a King”
What is the Enemy’s plan for your life? It’s an important question for each of us to ask and keep asking.
There are daily strategies, cultural strategies, and geographical strategies set up by the Enemy to “steal and kill and destroy” us (John 10:10). And then there are brilliantly and deviously crafted personal strategies that take into account our stories, our woundedness, and our most vulnerable places. The goal of these strategies is to destroy us before we ever become whole and holy, unstoppable forces of good in a broken world. That’s why Peter implored us to be on the alert — the Enemy prowls like a roaring lion seeking to devour us (1 Pet. 5:8) — and Paul urged us to be aware of Satan’s schemes (2 Cor. 2:11).
Much of the treasure hunt for the restoration of our masculine soul is hidden in the story of our family of origin. Have you noticed the themes that so often run through family lines — passivity, infidelity, betrayal, violence, addiction? There is more going on than meets the eye; there are personal strategies and tactics that work against us over time. The Enemy learns how to weave a storyline that can cause division with distinct parts of our hearts. But he is not equal in power to God. He can be exposed if we will pursue a deeper awareness of how he’s operating. He overplays his hand.
And you can be victorious. This is immensely helpful to understand. Yes, we must be trained. God is raising up kingdom warriors, his kingdom equivalent of Navy SEALs. He’s creating a culture of seasoned warriors, trained with live ammo, to see this battle through to its end.
